Happy Birthday, Whitney Jo!

So it's 2 days early, but Tuesdays are busy for me, so I'm preparing in advance. My soulmate sister, Whitney Jo Opperman-Meidlinger Higdon, will have graced the world with her existence for 24 years on October 7. Yay for her!

We are twins separated at birth, of this I am sure. So what if she's a foot taller, a year older, and we look nothing alike - details, details. And even though it took us 18 years to find each other, we've made up for the years apart.

Like any good big sis, she's been there for me - sneaking me into bars and getting me drunk on icky beer after a bad day, she lip synchs with me to whatever song we apparently loved on the speaker, and she even provides entertainment by dancing with our waiter.

The girl knows how to party. One year, to celebrate her birth, we cage danced. It's really the only proper way to say Happy Birthday. Here we are demonstrating our moves, our love for Whitney, and apparently our love for Greg, too...

It's not just one day a year that she knows how to have a good time, though. Here she is on her first trip to my great home of Bullhead City.

Sometimes, we go out just because. And sometimes we pose by fake Christmas trees in dance clubs. And then there are the times when I think we are at a photo shoot.

She's taught me that some dogs really do think they are human, how to shoot pool, and she's dyed my hair red.

We've unfairly won presents at a bridal shower by using our insider information, we've celebrated milestones, and we've been there for each other when one of us needed a soft place to land.

It's not just birthdays we celebrate, though. There was Ashley's wedding -

Then it was time for her own bachelorette party...

And her wedding soon followed.

Before long, there was a new addition! And even though my suggestion of Heidi Jr. did not win out, Isabella Jo was a good choice anyway. At first, I was only allowed to touch her if I was holding the pillow she was laying on, but soon I graduated to actually holding her.

And that's the story of us. So far, anyway. Isn't she fantastic? I'm waiting to find her in male form. I love you and I miss you every day, Whitney Jo. I hope that you have a fantastic birthday!
